I moved to Bemidji immediately after graduating from the University of Minnesota in 1979, and have been a year round resident with my family ever since."

Paul Nelson specializes in teaching people how to fish. He'll explain the “How’s and Why’s” of fishing to anglers of all ages. Paul has taken literally hundreds of kids fishing over the past 20+ years while guiding for Camp Thunderbird Boys and Girls Camp. >>

Living in Bemidji, MN Paul has access to lots of Northern Minnesota's most productive fishing lakes. Walleyes, Northern Pike, Muskies, Crappies, Sunfish, Perch, Trout and Largemouth Bass are all on the schedule when you fish with Paul.
Paul's fishing career began in 1982 when he started as a multi-species, full-time fishing guide. Since then he's grown to become a well recognized and respected personality in the fishing industry. Paul writes a weekly fishing column for the Bemidji Pioneer Newspaper, is a free lance writer with many fishing articles published in midwestern outdoor publications, has appeared in advertising and photos in dozens of national magazines and does a “fishing tip of the week” segment for Public TV during the summer months on Lakeland News. Paul has also been a frequent guest on various fishing programs on radio and television.

Anglers can count on a safe and instructive, all inclusive day on the water when they fish with the “Bemidji Area Lakes Guide Service”.

Paul fishes for all species on most of the Bemidji area lakes, he'll come to where you are staying or travel to the hot bite on any lake for the species of fish you want to catch.

Paul is on the pro-staffs of several fishing companies including Frabill, Northland Fishing Tackle, StrikeMaster, MinnKota, Hummingbird and LakeMaster. He spends much of his "off of the water" time writing about fishing and helping promote fishing products.
